Like many of you, we are excited for 2021 and the promise of longer days with warmer weather. The need to safely distance has brought into focus just how much we cherish our families, close friends, and homes. And, of course, our pools. A clean, clear pool provides the perfect environment for enjoying quality time with loved ones.
It is with that spirit that we wanted to provide an update on shipping. As we have shared before, we are exceptionally proud of Skimdevil and our work. We handcraft and test every, single unit and stand by each Skimdevil we ship. As a family-owned and operated business, we take pride in our efforts and remain committed to providing each of you with a high quality product.
As we announced in December, we are actively shipping the Skimdevil Pure :) Given our initial limited quantities, we have been prioritizing our shipments by pre-orders first. In some cases, we’ve been asked to delay shipping until the snow clears, but as a rule our desire is to fulfill these long standing orders. As soon as your Skimdevil ships, you will be sent an email with tracking information, so please stay tuned.
After nearly a year of challenges—the likes of which have not been seen in over a century—our small team of five continues to work every day to deliver our very best. We test every Skimdevil before it leaves our production facility, and if we discover an issue which affects performance, we pause and fix it before continuing to ship. We simply don't feel comfortable until we have diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and re-tested the Pure. This, subsequently, has caused a slowdown in our shipping turnaround time, which we plan on improving upon over this year.
Today, we are proud to release a SkimDevil firmware update that enables the nearly silent operation of the robot while increasing the power of the motors. Trust us, it's incredible. This update is available via the Skimdevil web application under "Device Settings-->Firmware Version".
The bottom line: we will continue working tirelessly to catch up on shipping backorders, while working to maintain and improve quality. We simply won’t take shortcuts. And, if something isn't working as expected, we are to help fix it. Thank you again for your trust in us.
